COMPAQ PRESARIO pls help!!

Hi everybody,
I have Notebook Compaq Presario, I had just installed Win XP on it, but the problem is when I closed the monitor in order to save energy, the system goes standby and all activity such as winamp and other shut down automatically.

How to make it still active though the monitor closed???

buy a new laptop i would never buy a compaq u have nothing but probs with it

Right-click on the desktop. Go to properties. Go to Screen Saver. Go to Power Management. There may or may not be an option to shut off the display, rather than go into standy. If there is, enable it. If there isn't, you're out of luck.
