Question Compaq Presario CQ5320-nl Graphics Card

Hi everybody,

I'd like to replace my onboard video card. Now i have an Intel GMA x4500, which is crap for 3D.

My goal is too play games like NFS World, Far Cry 2, Lotro, Devil may cry 4 and Assasins Creed 2 (perhaps Brotherhood?) On medium/high quality. I usually play at a 1600x900 resolution, but lower is ok too. And the main thing is compatibilty with my CPU, so i need to know if the graphics card would work.

I've got this card in mind:
Radeon HD 5570

These ones would be good too:
Radeon HD 5670
Radeon HD 4850
Nvidia Geforce 9600GT

(suggestions of other cards are good too)

My budget for the Graphics card is about 100 Euro, (1 EUR = 1.37910 USD)
My budget for the PSU is about 55 Euro (Only the Radeon HD 5570 will work on my stock PSU)

Processor:
Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5300 @2.60 Ghz (May be overclocked slightly)
Motherboard description
Manufacturer's motherboard name: Foxconn H-I41-uATX
HP/Compaq name: Eton

Cache:
L1 64kb
L2 2048kb

Form Factor
Micro-ATX: 24.5 cm (9.6 inches) x 24.5 cm (9.6 inches)

Chipset
Intel G41 Express

Front-side bus speed
1333/1066/800 MHz

PSU:
300w Merlot. C (which is too low)

Internal Connectors
One 24-pin ATX power connector
One 4-pin ATX power connector
Four SATA connectors
Two 12V fans for CPU fan and PC fan
One 9-pin header for power button, reset button, power LED, and HDD LED
One 9-pin audio header for headphone-out and microphone-in (yellow, requires matching front audio jack module)
One SPDIF out header
Two USB headers supporting 4 USB ports or devices

This is a picture of the Motherboard Layout:

I hope i gave enough information. I will check (and modify) this every day.

Seems like a great card performance/price wise, but i don't think my CPU can handle it. Or am i wrong? Also, it's a dual slot and i wonder if it will even fit in my case.

Your CPU will handle it, but it will be a small bottle neck for the system. In other words, you will have extra graphics power above what your CPU can keep up with. Not ideal, but not too bad, either.

It will cover your top PCI-E x1 slot (which should be empty.

The card is only a little over 18cm long (18.125). It shouldn't extend to the back edge of your motherboard.

Ok, then this is the one i will buy I'll check out some Radeon HD 5670's too to compare the prices, but now i know these cards fit. Thanks a lot!
---------
I found another combination which is less expensive (Almost €50, since the 500w PSU is €59 instead of €48) and (i think) doesn't bottleneck my CPU:

Gigabyte radeon HD 5670:

With this power supply:
430W, 70% efficiency

Guess this is even better

If 430W will be enough for the card then go for it.

The 5670 is a good card, but not as good as the 5770. While your CPU may hold it back some, you would still have a better card should you upgrade to a better CPU. Plus the XFX has a double lifetime warranty while the Gigabyte has either a two or three year warranty.
