Cheap Ram vs. Expensive Ram

Right now i'm looking to upgrade my ram. I have thought about it for a while because i play a lot of games on my computer and i'd like to get battlefield 2. Now i have one question, is it smart to get 1GB of really nice ram such as this corsair XMS memory. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145450

Or is it wiser to get 2GB of cheap ram like corsair value select. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145579

THE GENERAL RULE: more expensive-the better, longerlasting....however, read reviews and dont get ripped off on shit lol good luck

There is a better rule at hand here. Expensive RAM for overclocking, generic/value RAM for regular use.

Let me make this clear. Generic/Value RAM performs no different than fancy expensive RAM, unless you overclock.

There is a big misconception that valueRAM is garbage, and that it underperforms. This is TOTALLY false!

Actually no, more expensive memory is built on much better PCBs and with much better chips than your generic value RAM...of course all this means is more expensive RAM can achieve high speeds...if you were to run a set of TCCDs, a set of BH-5s, and a set of generic chips at DDR400 speeds you would not notice a difference
