ok screw this post ...i decided to bite the bullitt and get a AMD athalon 64 3500 in 939!!!!!

Asus A8S-X mobo
Athalon 64 3500+ in 939
XFX Geforce 7600 GT
3 Gigs of PC 3200
WD raptor 74 gigger/ External 150 Gb hd
Age of Empires 3
Half Life 2
Digital Photography via cannon 350d

theres a 3Dmark06 bench of a sempron 3000+ vs. a celeron D 3.0ghz. the superpi and encoding benchmarks aren't as impressive as i expected though but clearly the sempron wins in games

Yes the Sempron 64 is a fine processor. Still though I look forward to the day that I upgrade to a Athlon 64.
