Default CD/DVD drives...

I've seen mention in several books (not sure which titles), of some sort of CD/DVD superdrive or multi-drive that can read and burn ALL formats of CDs & DVDs. Think it may be made by Sony (although not been able to find anything on their site). Not sure if its a internal or external drive. Anyone know for sure the brand name/model number, so I can research it ? I'm looking into getting a dual-HD tower (been told for this I have to special order from a factory or custom-build shop), so I might want to add this superdrive to the list, but need to know more about it!

What formats are you talking about? My drive can burn DVD-RW/-R/+RW/+R (including Dual layer disks), it can burn any type of CD-R/-RW. They only thing it can't do, is read HD-DVD's or BluRay's. If you get a Blu Ray Burner, it should have all the functions like mine, but also be able to burn (*and rewrite) Blu Ray disks.
