cant install windows

ive got a serious issue with my PIII computer, ive just bought a new 500gb PATA HD for it and im trying to load windows 2000/XP on it but i cant, I boot from cd to start installing windows format the disk etc etc and then it says your computer is restarting in 15 sec time so it restarts but this is the problem instead of continuing where it left of it wants to boot from cd again and for the life of me i cant figure it out. Please help me?!?!

it still needs to boot from the CD after it formats your HDD. do you let it continue after the reboot?

yeah i do but instead of continuing from where it left of after reboot it wants to start from scratch again?

what does it say on the screen after the reboot?

it doesnt just boots straight to cd

nothing it just goes to the blue screen were it starts copying files etc etc

have you let it run all the way through that after the reboot?

no because i know its trying to boot again from cd and basically its starting all over again

try letting it run through.
