Hey guys,

this is a simple question But I've tried Google and the Canon Australia Website but I can't find a definite answer.

What is the Canon base model printer now? is it still the Spx or not? I've found three posible "base printers" but not sure which one of them it is:

Pixma IP1200
Pixima IP1600
Pixima IP 2200

do any of those ring a bell?

Alright guys,

lets try it this way, I can't edit the first post otherwise I would, but I am in need of your help. I have also posted this on LQ.Org but thought you guys might have somthing to add as well

Right here is the Situation My Sisters printer has now been non operational for just under a year and a half, being that I now have an IP3000 she is tending to use mine alot more for her study, the problem is she won't pay for Ink or paper. and I have had a gutfull

Her Birthday is coming up in November and I was thinking of buying her a printer. the Prerequets (spelling)are that it has to be a Canon, prints photos to a resonable quality ie not with lines running though them and discoloration. and somewhere in the price range of $100-150 AUS I was thinking about these

IP2200: http://www.canon.com.au/products/pri...rs/ip2200.html
IP1600: http://www.canon.com.au/products/pri...rs/ip1600.html
IP1200: http://www.canon.com.au/products/pri...rs/ip1200.html

I need opinions about these, does anyone Recomend them? any others I shold consider? the reason I am so anxious on this matter is that the last time I went out and bought a printer with no feedback was that I ended up getting a dud 3 year extended warrenty on a crappy SPX2000 and add to that I lost the recipt. I'm not making the same mistake twice

thank you so much and I greatly appeciate any feedback, the mods may ban me if they wish for wasting perfectly good space with a stupid question

yours in Stupidity

Jake
