when you buy a internal hard drive for a desktop p.c can use use it in a laptop or do you have to buy a special hard drive for a laptop? my laptop is seriously bad. it was crap when bought and now two years later people don't even sell laptops with as little hard drive space as this one.

Laptop hard drives are usually smaller (2.5"inch) compared to internal drives (3.5").

Basically, a normal hard drive will not fit into a laptop

Desktop HDD's are larger in size than a laptop HDD, so no you wouldn't be able to.

Desktop: 3.5"
Laptop: 2.5" and thinner

Edit: ninja'd by brinks lol

Most solid state drives are 2.5" and will work in laptops as long as they use SATA drives.

if the laptop is your primary computer and it is mostly media/movies/pictures/music that is filling the hard drive, you may want to consider an external drive.
