Hello Everyone,

I have an Asus P7P55D EVO motherboard for Intel Processors that I purchased over 2 years ago and I would like to upgrade to usb 3.0 via my PCIE port.

I spoke with Asus tech support and the guy recommended that the PCI Card runs at 2.0 compatible and actual data transfer for pci standard. Basically, my slot is an PCIE 2.0. I learned that it doesn't mean usb 2.0 or 3.0, just the Card slot itself.

My question to everyone is, can I or can't I install a usb 3.0 PCI or PCIE card without ruining my motherboard?

If I do buy one, this is the one I was actually looking at.

Amazon.com: Uspeed SuperSpeed USB 3.0 PCI express Card with 4 Ports [with 4-pin power connector]: Computers & Accessories

If there is any other cards you can recommend, that would be helpful.

I am not sure what other info you need. Ask me and I will give you the additional info.

Thank you for your help.
