Motherboards can only have a maximum of two IDE controllers onboard. Each controller can control two devices.

The only way to change this is:
1. Get a SATA device, and use a SATA channel.
2. Get a PCI-IDE controller.

The only motherboard I've ever seen with more than two IDE controller onboard its the Asus p4p800-E Deluxe for 478 sockets. Had the two main one's and third for onboard raid.

Just checked newegg. here are some more for socket 775

not entirely true. there are motherboards with 4 IDE channels across two controllers, however they are generally aimed at the server market. it would be cheaper to buy an ATA controller instead.

also, we can't pick a board for you without knowing the processor/socket type.
