I want to know if my Gigabyte GA-8VM800PMD-775 Motherboard can support SATA II Hard Drives. I am looking into buying Samsung 500gb Hard drive 16mb cache 7200rpm 3.0gb/s.
Which i will be buying for $150.00 if you can, please tell me if thats a good price.
Thanks

First off, no, that motherboard will not run the SATA3.0 drives. You'll want Serial ATA 150 or IDE.

Secondly, no, $150 would be a sub-average deal. This drive is cheaper and would wipe the floor with that drive:
Newegg.com - Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 ST3500320AS 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM

Newegg doesn't appear to carry many Serial ATA 150 drives (maybe they were never popular, I don't know). Might be better off with an old IDE drive. This one looks awesome, and is cheaper as well:
Newegg.com - Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 (Perpendicular recording) ST3500630A 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache IDE Ultra ATA100 Hard Drive - OEM
