Default Buying a new pc, could you guys tell me what its like? i have no clue

Hi guys, im not much of a computer wiz, i just know the basics, i am looking for a pc that i can run good games on, say half life 2 on high settings smoothly, and ive found this pc, can you guys just plz tell me if its any good

AMD Athlon 64 FX-57

2GB Corsair TwinX PC3200

GeForce 7900 GTX 512MB

Caviar SE 250GB S-ATA 150

Windows XP

Yes that is a good gaming computer, can run HL2 on high no problem.

How much are you paying for this? On July 24 AMD is having a huge price drop on all of their chips inlcuding the Athlon64 X2 dual cores IMO if you are on a budget you should put together a system with an Athlon64 X2 and OC it, or if you ave more money go for an Intel Core2 Duo e6600 when they come out on July 27th.

oh rite, ty for that, but im not buying a pc for acouple of months, and this pc is £1700

ya that PC is great. it can run pretty much any game out there on max settings.. BUT.. its not the best value out there. definitely look into getting a dual core cpu! and you should probably also looking into getting a core 2 duo instead of AMD...
