Default Buying a musicians dream laptop...

So does anyone know any really good sites where i can fully customize a laptop to my needs? Or even if you know the brand and model of a laptop that works excellent for running multiple real-time media tasks? I'm tyring to keep it under $1700 and I know that may be almost impossible, but any suggestions would really help. And also, does anyone recommend buying a used laptop off Ebay? To me, it seems a bit risky, but for the price, it's something I gotta consider.

Thanks -Sifu

Personally for what you're talking about, I recommend an Apple, especially for Media. Wait until the first of Feburary and buy yourself a shiny new MacBook Pro. You won't be disappointed, I promise.

For music, this is defiantly what you want as well. Save money to buy a good firewire sound card.
