I've recently put a Gigabyte GA-M55plus-S3G motherboard in with an AMD 64 processor, 2 GB of 667 DDR2 ram and an 512 MB ATI sappphire video card. IDE hard drive and CD drive comes from old computer. I have wiped hard drive using a nuke and boot program.
When I try to install a OS I have severe problems.

With windows 98 it says I don't have enough memory to start the OS.

During windows XP install it either has an error and won't complete install or it completes it without installing several things. After install computer keeps rebooting before it reaches XP startup screen.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

check your media that your installing, make sure they are in good condition. ive seen these problems with damage cds.

hdd could also be the issue as mentioned if you have an extra one laying around test it with that.

if the above doesnt work mobo's can also cause these problems. just because its new doesnt mean its good.

i havent used 98 in what seems like hundreds of years but does it support 2gigs or ram? i dont think so, that may be your memory problem with that.
