Hi,

I thought that if I was more precise with my choice of components, it might help more people to look at my project and advice.

I'm buying a new PC.

On top of all the usual daily uses, I do photo and video editing, seriously but not professionally. Now, I intend to go full HD video. I still have to buy a HD camcorder or photo camera with full HD video, and it will be either Hard drive or Flash card based.

Here are the components I'm thinking for the new machine. I would like opinions and advices.

Case: ANTEC TWO HUNDRED GAMING ATX
http://www.antec.com/Believe_it/product.php?id=MjEyMQ==
( because of its cost, its cooling and the front swap HD caddy )

Power Supply: Either
THERMALTAKE 775W MODULAR Thermaltake Global > Product > PowerSupply > Toughpower > NewToughpowerXTSeries > ATX12V2.3Series > NewToughpowerXT775W > TPX-775M

Or 750w Antec

MB: ASUS P6T
ASUSTeK Computer Inc.
( providing it permits SATA Hot swap ( AHCI ))

CPU : INTEL CORE I7 930
ASUSTeK Computer Inc.

Video card: ASUS EAH5770 ASUSTeK Computer Inc.

ROM: KINGSTON DDR3 3X2GB 1866M SuperX

( I'm not sure if I should go overclock. I've never done it. But if I decide to go OC, the 1866 ROM would probably be my choice, otherwise, I would go for )

KINGSTON DDR3 3X2GB 1333M SuperX
http://www.valueram.com/datasheets/KHX1333C7D3_2G.pdf

( some people say I'm better with Corsair )

HD: WD 640GB CAVIAR BLACK 3.5 SATA 32MB
WD Caviar Black 640 GB SATA Hard Drives ( WD6401AALS )
( This is the system drive, I already have a bunch of big HD's for storage and if I see the need in the future, I could go for 10K disks in raid)

Optical drive: LG BH10LS30 BLACK 10X BLU-RA*, 16X DVD-RW BURNER
( Although some people tell me that BlueRay burners are still very touchy )

OS: Win 7 64 Pro

Any advice anyone ?

Thanks,

Claude
