Building my First Computer. I need some reassurance!

yes you are missing something.

I do VERY LITTLE gaming, but lots of picture editing and spread-sheeting. I basically just want a fast machine that can handle anything I throw at it - but I don't need a ridiculous gaming machine.

he's not a gamer.

dual core + 2gb ram = excellent multi tasking.

if he wanted to save money he could 2X512.. but if he wanted to add later then he'd have to have 4X512 which in some cases isn't the best setup. i suggested he get 2X1gb so that he doesn't have to face that... and why not since ram is cheap now anyways.

"VERY LITTLE gaming" to me sounds like more than enough for a 6600.

Ok guys. Final list.

I upgrated the video card to a 6800XT.

I decided on cheaper ram that had good ratings on newegg.

I decided on a non-SLI motherboard after reading the Dual GPU sticky.

I think for $1221, this system is pretty kick-***. If anyone sees and compatibility issues, please let me know NOW.

Oh, and before someone brings it up, I ahve a legal copy of Windows XP at home.

Everything is purchased!!!

My out the door, with shipping cost was $1,296!!

My budget was $1,500, but I got everything I needed (and more) for way less, so I'm happy!

My remaining question is, do i need to buy more fans? I won't be overclocking anything (at least not yet). I am planning on using the stock heat sink, etc..

Will the case fan be enough to cool everything?
