Default building first computer, looking for feedback

So my computer recently contracted a virus, and without the ability to use it, I decided it was time to put together a new one. I wanted to put together my own for the experience and cheaper cost, but It'll be my first time and I'm honestly about as new as you can get to it.

After reading numerous articles and looking through many different sites, I believe I've found the parts I'm looking for. Before they're purchased however, I'd love some feedback and/or constructive criticism. I'm going for a computer that can play modern games, but my budget is $800.

video card- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130339

memory- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231276

motherboard- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131366

hard drive- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822152185

dvd drive- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827135202

case- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119068

I've got the keyboard, mouse, etc. covered, so above is what I'd like feedback with.

Thanks!

Fix your links. We'll be glad to help you out

You can play games in the Mid to mid-High settings for $800, But still be a good computer

Welcome to T-F by the way!

This is my first post outside of the Welcome Area. Based on my experiences, I wouldn't buy a new computer unless your hardware either fails, or else you really want to. I would recommend a program called "KillDisk" that completely wipes your hard drive. It boots from DOS from a device of your choice, and your virus problem will be completely gone, unless you've got viruses embedded in your router, in which case a simple update of the firmware would fix the problem. If you're still looking into getting a new computer, then the best of luck to you.

that's a good point, i didn't think to ask if you were thinking of building a whole new rig just because your old one got a virus.

Oh, I'm not building it just because the old one has a virus. it's because that one was a laptop, and for a while now I've been wanting to set up a desktop that can actually play games. The virus was more of a reminder then anything else XD
