Where do u live in Canada? I live in Vancouver...ive heard some bad hings about tigerdirect and cancomputer...better to use:

http://www.ncix.com

http://www.anitec.ca

But it all depends about shipping...

If you aren't gaming the 7300gs pci-e will be fine...if u want to game any modern games you'll want the 7600gt at a minimum...

And yes go WD or Seagate...your mboard is fine.

if cybersprinter ships to canada u may save some money but expect a delay getting the stuff through customs....i waited 3 weeks to get a $5 battery for my camera...

Thanks for all the replies. Based on everyones input this is what I have come up with so far. I have decided to buy everthing except the case off of NCIX(their cases are double that price of others sites.)

System General Layout including hardware rought ides

MOTHER BOARD

http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=19870&vpn=GA-965P-S3&manufacture=Gigabyte

RAM

http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=18493&vpn=OCZ2G8001GK&manufacture=OCZ Technology

or

http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=19054&vpn=OCZ2SOE8001GK&manufacture=OCZ Technology

Whats the difference...is this good ram?

VIDEO CARD

HARD DRIVE

Overall this looks like its turning into a kick *** system...conroe compatible for future upgrades...ddr2 800 ram...sata 2 hd...decent video card..all for 458$ CAD so far...I still need a case and DVD burner.

Any comments/suggestions on my revised build plan much appreciated.

cheaper, dont ask me why:

you will also need a power supply, and i guess u are reusing your P4 for now...
-go with antec, ocz, ernemax, fortron for the psu

Ikind of prefer to get the case and power supply as one unit. This will be my first build and just want to keep everthing simple (although im sure intalling a psu is about as simple as it gets lol). Any ideas on good looking sturdy yet cheap cases?

I prefer under 60$ if possible but if its worth it il go to $100.

Here is a decent looking one...a little large and somewhat expensive but..

Will post an updated configuration soon. So far with all these goodies and adding on that 95$ case/psu..all in all before shipping im looking at 617$ Canadian.

Is this in your opinions a good bang for my buck here? Seems like a great deal...

i may be alone but i think that samsung drives should also be considered because they are supposed to be the most quit drives currently on the market
and they perfrom almost up to par aswell
they are also very reliable

EDIT- wat about maxtor also
