that build is...ehhh....

Well I assume you have a 450-500 dollar budget...

so here, try this:

Newegg.com - EVGA 122-CK-NF66-T1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 650i Ultra ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
75 after rebate

Newegg.com - Intel Dual-Core E2180 Allendale 2.0GHz 1MB L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor - Retail
89

Newegg.com - A-DATA Extreme Edition 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail
20 after rebate

Newegg.com - SAPPHIRE 100216L Radeon HD 3850 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Retail
179 (or buy the 8800GT 256mb when its out)

Newegg.com - FSP Group FX600-GLN V2.2/EPS12V 600W Power Supply 100 - 240 V CB, CE, CSA, TUV, UL, FCC - Retail
85 after rebate

Newegg.com - HITACHI Deskstar T7K500 HDT725050VLA360 (0A33437) 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM
99

Total is 547 + case....which is over your budget. Hmm....can't you scrape any more money together? Because this build really is a million times better than the other one.

Because then down the line you can get an aftermarket heatsink and overclock the processor to 3-3.4ghz.....

indeed.
also, it doesnt say which processor you are getting, it just links to a page full of them.
um okay also there arent any am2 chips for 40 dollars unless you are buying an open box (not suggested).
are you sure your cpu is the right socket? link directly to the product page, like you did with the other parts. you should probably buy at a minimum a brisbane x2 4000 chip. its like 65 bucks.

go dokay well first off lol, thats acually a lil under budget by around 50-60 bucks, also that HD isn't as good as the one i was already going to get, annnd that motherboard had ALOT of bad reviews, the graphics card has to stay at factory settings or it crashes?! i don't really like that eighther...
Newegg.com - EVGA 256-P2-N751-TR GeForce 8600GT 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 SLI Supported Video Card - Retail
how about that?
and quick q- i assume u can run 2 graphics cards at the same time, could i run my current one with this one to give a small boost?

but when you guys r seay like "get a 3778+' and stuff like that, idono what that means...i'm not really that deep into the comp stuff yet. any motherboards with better reviews?

never pay attention to newegg reviews. That's quite a good motherboard actually...and in terms of budget mobos there's not much else out there.

And the harddrive isn't quite as fast as the 7200.11, but still it's one of the top performing drives on the market..and i guarantee you're not going to notice any difference between the 2.

If you have another 50-60 bucks then I suggest buying a better cooler and overclocking the processor. Or perhaps spending a little more and getting an ATI 3870
