I would suggest the E6750 (dual core) or Q6600 (quad core)

And i take it a Q6600 would fit ok onto the motherboard?
Also i've been reading articles on how to build pc's and ive read about thermal paste with processors. What's thermal paste and why is it needed?

Not that mobo I originally picked out, but then you wouldn't want that one with a Q-core anyway. (there are better)

Thermal paste is a conductive paste that help the transfer of heat, reducing the temp on the CPU and giving better performance. You want to use it. Trust me, just do some reading around the forums sections, and you will learn alot. There is a search tool in every section that allows your to keyword your search, to help with specific questions.
