First off thanks to b1gapl and other contributors for that post on recommended parts for Low - High builds.

Backstory, my girlfriend's parents have an old Dell 450 mhz computer running windows 98 that finally died. They use it for internet, email, and some finance software. They have new 19" LCD, keyboard, and wireless mouse, XP,printer, ect. All they need is a new computer.

Here is what I picked out:

Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 CAC-T05-UW Black Aluminum Bezel , SECC Chassis ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail
39.99 after rebate

Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar SE WD1600AAJS 160GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM
49.99

Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-M61P-S3 AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 6100 ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail
74.99

Newegg.com - FSP Group (Fortron Source) AX400-PN ATX12V 400W Power Supply 120/220 - 240v NEMKO, TUV, CSA, IEC, UL, CE - Retail
38.99

Newegg.com - G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail
54.99

Newegg.com - AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ Brisbane 2.1GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 65W Processor - Retail

Total price w/out shipping is 339.94 -$15 in rebates so not too bad I think. Please let me know what you think.

Excellent. I'm glad someone looked at my thread.

I'm glad you have a thread like that. I haven't researched computer parts since I built my rig many months ago. All I did was search (yes used search :) ) for budget PC, or something like that, and found the thread.

If no one else has an opinion then I will go ahead and buy in the morning.

They have two, though one was "Acting up". That may be related to the computer dying. I'll install both of them and see what happens, if one or both act up then I'll replace.
