Brands of Motherboards

I will be building a new computer in the near future and have been price gauging on newegg.
I would like to hear your opinions on the different brands of motherboards. If some are accepted as total crap etc.

My opinion of ASUS is kinda low, I have an ASUS board in my machine now. It gets the job done, but I have had some trouble flashing the bios (had to revert back to a previous version), and now I think one of my power switch pins has a loose connection.

Other brands I am not sure about....such as:

MSI
Foxconn
Biostar
Jetway
ASRock
DFI
Zotac
Intel (I know they make good processors, but im not sure about their Mobos)

I want to be spending about $1000 on my machine maybe a little less. This is going to be my gaming computer for the next 3-4 years.

So any comments, opinions would be nice.

foxconn is bad, which is ironic because they make the boards for almost all the large manufacturers.

Good: Biostar, DFI, MSI
Bad: Intel, ASRock, Jetway
Zotac; unsure..

ASUS owns ASRock so you can form opinion about them too.

DFI and gigabyte are top notch, really the only two I have bought in the last 4 years or will in the future.

+1 for Biostar

MSI is my preferred brand. I have an Intel board, it's very vanilla. You could do better.
Never had good luck with Asus.
