the 7900 GT is a bit over budget though...
if you can afford it, it's a great card to get. otherwise the 7600 GT is quite nice.

Yeah true, it would be nice though if the budget could be stretched.

The 7600GT is nice, but that 128bit interface will only take you so far, I would really recommend spending a little extra and getting a card with a 256bit, just my opinion though, and im a newbie

so in conclusion the BFG GeForce 7900 GT 256MB PCIe is the best card affordable for me to buy for gaming evne thoi

the x1600 has 512mb?

More memory does very little, if anything, to the performance of the card. Higher core and memory speeds, as well as the amount of pipelines, play a much bigger role!

ok than thanks alot i will go with the BFG GeForce 7900 GT 256MB PCIe itsa round $350 i think here in canda i just choose the x1600 at first casue it had 512mb and i thought it really makes a differenece

one more question

i have a 300W power supply
i am guesisng i will need to get a new one beaucse it will not suppore the video card

am i right and if i am how much W do you suggest me to buy?

Look at something like the Antec Trupower 550W. Expensive, but never buy a cheap PSU!

they both have 24 pixel pipelines, the GTX just has higher clock speeds.
if you're prepared to overclock, I'd go with the GT definately

you probably won't find a BFG 7900gt for $350.. i reckon they'd be around $400. you should consider that PNY one..

have you checked if your mobo supports pci-express?
