Question Best video card

I have been out of the computer market for a few years now since I built my last pc 2 years ago. It finally went on me when the CPU fan went and my motherbaord cooked. It was smoking and then that was it.

Anyway I am building a new PC and I want to know what is the best Video card out right now. Kind of like what every company is trying to beat or make better.

I am also new so if there is already a thread or a list or something of the sort sorry. I just do not know where to go yet.

It's by far the best card, but you'll be paying once heft price for a HD 5970

But if you have the cash, the PSU and the case (this monster is 12 inches long!) then go for it! and post pictures
