Hello, i had a question that id like another opinion on.
I have a dell dimension 4600 with; 2.666 p 4, 2 gb pc3200, geforce 4600ti 128 agp, 250 gb hd, 865pe chipset.

My quesion is, what is the best suited graphic's card for my system??
i have my eye on the ati x1950pro 512. is this a good choice??
they have the ati hd series that look nice. the hd3850 inpaticular.
or the geforce 7950gt looks sexy as well,... bolth in agp 8x.

So my other question is when does it go overboard?
will i even be able to get full performance with my mobo/cpu?

i cant afford to buy my dream computer at the moment but i can afford 100-150 for a newer card. but then again i really dont want to waste the money on somthing i will regret later either.

I guess im just looking for some constructive criticisem.
any info will help.

Thanks,.... Pugs

The all are good cards. The main thing is your budget, which will have to include a new power supply. Your current PSU is probably a 250W or 300W, max. Any of those cards will need more juice than that. Any of those cards will also be bottlenecked by your CPU, but not terribly so.

x1950xt should be fine, because it won't bottleneck you as much as the HD3850 :D

I play all types of games, currently im into the first person shooter ones like call of duty, halo, halflife, counter strike and simaler, also i play rpg's like WOW diablo dungeon seige ect,... basicly i like all games.

I would like to play the newer ones like bio shock timeshift and crysis
alltho i dont know if this is attainable.

does anyone know if you can play these games with the ati x1950pro 512??

also i would like to say i appreciate the all the input.
