I have lately been thinking of buying some new hard drives and i was wondering what the leading hard drive company is?

Seagate hands down, then a close second would be Western Digitial. Also up there would be samsung and hitachi.

Yup pretty much everyone hear loves Seagate. Reliable, 5 year warranty, quiet and fast. Hope you enjoy your new hard drive

I like both Seagate and Western Digital. As others had mentioned, warranty is always a good thing for to only part (other than fans) that is a mechanical part that moves, and usually has a shorter lifespan than other parts.

i have a 80 gig seagate barracuda 7200rpm drive and it works flawlessesly and is fast with load times

I've had 3 WDs burn out on me in the past, just wouldn't let me access them at all.
Maxtor, only had 1 but it was pretty reliable.
What I have now is a Samsung 250GB harddrive - had it for about 3 months so far, very nice temperatures, never had a problem with it and a lot less noise than all my previous harddrives.
