Hello everyone,

I am looking at building a mid range gaming pc, and I have already decided the components i will have in this RIG, they are:

Case: Galaxy 3 Gaming case /w 450 PSU
Processor : Intel E5300 Dual Core 2.6ghz 800mhz
Hard Drive : 500gb 16mb Cache Serial ATA
Motherboard : Asus P5G41C-M
Optical Drive : 20x Lightscribe DVD Writer

Now, the RIG itself would have an on-board Graphics Card : Onboard Intel GMA4500 Graphics 1GB, which i would be looking to upgrade. Cards I have looked at are the XFX Radeon HD 5750 Video Card 512 MB version, which I can find for a smidgen under £100, and am not looking to spend anything over that. I have also looked at the Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5670 512MB GDDR5, which I can pick up for around £65.00 and gets good reviews for its price. It is probably the cheapest GDDR5 can with that lvl of core clock I could pick up that will run HD smoothly.

Games I will want to play are Guild Wars 2 & Diablo III.

So what is the current best Graphics card to get for under my £100.00 limit??

Help mucho appreciated,

Artemix

The monitor I will be using is a Sony Bravia HD 22", if this helps.

I'd definitely get the 5750 over the 5670; and the 1gb version is only a few quid over 100 :p .. something like 104 inc. vac.

Another option would be to get the 4850, its a really nice card and should be quite a bit cheaper than the 5750; it should come halfway b/w the 5670 and the 5750. The downside would be that you won't be getting dx 11... which may not be that important anyways...

I'm worried though that your powersupply may not be sufficient or may be of low quality and will not power your cards sufficiently.

Is there much difference in the performance of the 5750 and the 5670? I am determined not to break my £100 spending cost, even only by a little. I want a card that will be future proof for a while longer, hence looking at GDDR5 cards with Direct X 11 support.

Thanks for the reply!

5570<5670<5750<5770

The best price/performance purchase out of those is the 5770.
The runner up is the 5570, but it's not really a heavy gaming card...
If you play at resolutions of 1680x1050 or less and don't play high end games the 5570 or 5670 would tie you over probably...

I recommend the 5750 if you can manage to find one in your budget, the performance difference is pretty large.
A 5750 could last you a few years probably as long as you don't play too new of games or at too high of resolutions.
