Backup Steam

I've decided to remove the Windows XP partition and run just Windows 7 with no dual boot because I never use XP anymore. I have backed up all my essential files (contacts, appdata, tracing, etc..) but need to backup my game drive on the new external HD i just bought. It's mostly all Steam games and all the Steam folders that go with it, and seeing as how I've never had to backup my Steam games does anyone have a recommended way of doing it? Or just straight copy everything on the game drive over to the external drive?

You can backup steam games using the steam client. I believe if you go to your 'games list' and right click the game there's a 'backup' option or a 'more options' option with the backup option inside.
