AVG Cookie Blocking

I have been going through **** with AVG! I require a cookie be sent from a website for school to access the school's library to get access to the major databases (EBSCOHost and ProQuest). I called tech support and they told me that the anti-virus (In my case AVG) is blocking the cookies from their website. They told me I would have to disable my anti-virus. Does anyone know of another way? Or maybe even another cause?
