Default ATI Hybrid Graphics

Just to clarify, a mobo with on board graphics like this Scan.co.uk: Asus M4A88T-M AMD 880G AM3 Motherboard

would kind of crossfire and boost the performance of a card like this Scan.co.uk: XFX HD 5770 AMD / ATI Graphics Card - 1GB - HD-577X-ZNFV

is that right?

No, I don't believe so. lol

Once a graphics card is recognized by the bios it completely ignores the onboard video.

no you wouldn't be able to with that card. hybrid xfire only works with a few low end cards like the 54xx/55xx series (with 8 series chipsets) and 43xx/45xx series (with 7 series chipsets).
