ok.. according to that video... it says its best to use a thermal pad? is that true?

only if you dont know what you're doing. the thermal pads that come with the heatsink usually aren't going to transfer heat as well as something like AS5

ok i gotcha.. now what do you think is the best heatsink to get... also remember i dont have much money to spend.. it cant be over like 40 dollars

Yea that's a pretty nice cooler if you ask me. The only downside is that the base doesn't have much copper.

i noticed the bottom of that heatsink has a round shape. the stock amd one is square.. and also the space on my mobo is square. how does that round bottom lock onto the square spot on my mobo?
