Okay, a quick question: You CAN remove a heatsink after attaching it to the processor, right? It's just a matter of separating it from the processor and scraping off the residue?

I realize this might sound stupid, but I haven't attempted this yet (We don't have much thermal paste lying around my house ^.^)

That is correct - just make sure you clean off the excess paste with rubbing alcohol (the higher concentration, the better) on a Q-Tip from both the HSF and proc.
