How come AMD is incapable of using the new and better DDR2? Also, are they trying to develop a product that takes advantage of DDR2?

For the same reason they didn't use RDRAM or haven't yet embraced BTX; they don't need to. Granted, DDR2 may be faster, but the latency is terrible, even on the high quality sticks. So, in the end, AMD and DDR are really getting the longer end of the stick.

that is very true considering the AM2's r doing worse than their current chips

a number on the end doesn't make it any better. sure it has higher frequencies but for starters AMD have proved frequency does not matter. like macdude said the latencies are pathetic. you may notice not many graphics cards use DDR2 memory. most are DDR or DDR3. that is because of some of the inherent problems with DDR2. look at the sticky about AM2

they have been testing more AM2's tho recently and using DDR800 has improved over the DDR memory just because of its pure speed. and the conroes r scheduled to use DDR1066 and that should fly

Is this ddr800 and 1065 standard ddr memory or ddr2 or different. If its ddr then does that mean it can be used in motherboards such as the asus sli deluxe say.

Yeah i thought so, dam that would be good. They should make a faster ram that can be used on socket 939 motherboards.
