Are AMD processors really better than Intel??

How is good marketing and strategy abusing market power? Do you know how capitalism and the free market place works?

I really just had to say that. Everyone else is spot on, with the advent of the dual core Intel has been at the top of the CPU market, which now includes quad cores and i7's. Before the dual core AMD was top. If you want the best get Intel, if you are on a budget get AMD.

Nothing new to add, just thought that saying about Intel abusing market position is funny, because you could say that about every large company in the world (because they are there because they properly marketed their product).

Well the EU have found Intel guilty of something like that and Intel are going to get a huge fine for something like that if they lose their appeal, much like the way microsoft got found guilty of abusing market position by being anti competative. And for the record anti competative behaviour is or can be anti capatalist in instances like ogilopilys and monopolys.

Intel selling Atom full platform with chip for 25$ to OEM but the cpu ALONE for 45$ because they know that 99% of the Atoms purchased alone are for use with nVidia's Ion platform. That's not good business practice, that's well deserving of a fine imo....

If his theory was correct and they were using marketting to ensure they were put into all prebuilds, this could be in violation of multiple anti-trust laws, so it would be more than good capitalism.

Capitalism depends on the market being free, and having low barriers of entry. When a company deliberately creates barriers to industries to prevent competition, they are acting against the concept of capitalism. They are destroying what makes capitalism work, and it is most certainly illegal.
