Default AMD Processors?

Another question regarding processors. I was looking at:

I'm used to Pentium processors. In the spec, it says:
Processor speed: 64 4200+ / 2.20GHz

Now, what's the significance behind 4200+ / 2.20GHz.

I must be missing something here... is the speed 2.20GHz? I'm guessing the 4200+ means something.

Just because, I have a 3 yr old CPU that's an Pentium 4, 2.4 GHz.

Is this processor I"m looking at alot better than my P4 2.4 GHz

The proc runs at a clockspeed of 2.2Ghz, but that doesn't mean much these days. The 4200+ signifies that it is as fast as a Pentium 4 4.2ghz, give or take some.

AMD are different to Intel when it comes to clockspeed, AMD have a lower clockspeed because it processes more data per clock.

as far as i know the 4200+ is an x2 so that is a NICE processor. like the others said yes it is 2.2ghz but amd cpu's do not require high frequencies like intel's to be effective

There is an equation out there that calculates the actual frequency from the + number and the bus speed. It doesn't work for multicore processors though.
