Yeah, and it's going to slightly be a better performer. Remember, the normal Athlon 64 3000+ has 512mb of cache, but you'll have 1mb. I'd ballpark that around a 3300ish.
Hey i got one more question? You know how the fx-55 has 1mb l2 cache and it is @2.6ghz. Well if I can possibly o/c mine to 2.6ghz will it be the same as an fx-55 or is the fx-55 different. I know the 55 is a different core, but will it be the same?
It'll perform just like the FX-55, yes. If you can get it to 2.8 (doubtful, but possible with the right equipment around it), then you'll have an FX-57 performer on your hands.
Wow. That's hard to believe. I pay $170 for a cpu and wiht the right mobo and as5 i can get it to perform like an $800 processor. That is just awesome. Even if the opteron goes up to $199 again I will still get it. It is totaly worth it. At $199 it is omly $30 more than the 3200. ATM it is only $174 on newegg.com
Thats interesting...hmmm since i maked my new PC i haven't overclock my CPU ( Athlon 64 3700 San Diego 1MB cache), how much a 3700 can be o/c with stock cooling?
Sorry for asking but i'm not really an overclocker, so thats why...
