Red face AMD or Intel?

So, im running a q6600 with a 580, and apprently my benchmark is

Score
X2028 3DMarks
Graphics Score
1893
Physics Score
3187
Combined Score
2560

I got told, my cpu is holding my GPU back?

So, im looking to upgrade my mobo/cpu/ram

Should i go AMD, or intel? AMD will be cheaper for me, intel will be more expensive.

Id have about, £270 to spend, mybe a little over the 270 mark.

If i was to go with AMD, would i get the full potential out of my 580? or should i go with intel?

If you want the best potential, you'll want Intel.

And at 270, you can swing it for an i5, h77 board and 8 gigs of ram

Not that corsair memory, its fine stuff, i'm runnin g 12gigs, but its older 1.65V. You want 1.5V ideally

The 2500k is great

But the z77 is the new board, so you're future proof

The 2500k will destroy the amd buildand is worth the 50 pounds more.

Over at scan.co.uk the 2500k is cheaper, by bout 3 pounds

Technically that Q6600 should be doing just fine with a 580 in games.

Get this instead, faster and cheaper than the 2400 and 2500k.

When i try and play GW2, my fps drops to like 10-15, and then it lags.

Isnt the core i5 2400 100 mhz fatser then the core i5 3330?

The new cpu's, aka Ivy Bridge, are clock per clock faster than Sandy.

So definitely go the i5 3330
