depends as with the other threads problem some motherboards are made specially so that you can only use that manufacturers power supplies with it so you may have to buy one from dell which they are obviously going to mark up

ok so its basically one of these
BFG GeForce 7800GS 256MB GDDR3 VGA DVI AGP Graphics Card
or
XFX GeForce 7900GS 256MB AGP DDR3 Dual DVI 450/1.32 (PV-T71K-UDF7)

The one suggested by B1gapl is out of stock atm, and im hoping to order 2day
Which would ye choose?

Will it say somewhere on the dell site whether i can use another companies psu or not?
What specs does the psu need?(sorry you have to take me by the hand on this one but i reallly havn't a clue)

well you will probably need 300W but its safer to go with a 400-500W not sure how to check the psu on dell pc's

ok i found a 400W dell compatible PSU for $30, I just need to pick one of the above two cards, ones 7800 and the other 7900, any idea why they are the same price?

I have no idea lol I have been here awhile and no-one has ever asked me that before just come here whenever between us all we can solve virtually any issue and were more friendly then some fat old mechanic

laptops are difficult to build generally it is better to buy premade there the rare form of computer where it is generally cheaper to buy from a major manufacture just because of the exact dimensions needed
