To be honest, I would put up with that system for 6 months, then you will have more to spend on a laptop for your travels.

If it can play DMMOM, I would have thought it will play oblivion on low?

EDIT: well, if you are going to be leaving it with your brother then maybe it would make sense to get a machine now. Probaby just go for a cheap core2duo rig with a reasonable GPU.

Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 "LGA775 Allendale" 1.80GHz (800FSB) - Retail
Abit IB9 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
Sapphire ATI Radeon X1950 Pro 256MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail
Crucial 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-5300C5 Dual Channel Kit (CT2KIT12864AA667)
FSP Sparkle Blue Storm 2 400W ATX2.0 PSU

Comes to £316. Add £40 for a 250GB HDD (if needed), and that would make an awesome budget gaming system, provided you don't plan on overclocking at all.

That is awesome. No need for a laptop. Just put it in your pocket, and connect to a display. Just for internet surfing.

You'd need to upgrade the power supply as well.

Look for brands like Antec, FSP (Fortron), HIPER, XClio, and Rosewill.
