AGP 4x and 8x question

i'm upgrading my video card for America's Army. my comp is an AMD Athlon XP 2400+ 2.00GHz, 768MB of ram. i have an AGP 4x slot and was wondering if a video card with AGP 8x would work in it. some video cards say 4x/8x and others just say 8x. just want to make sure before i buy. also, if anybody knows, which is better for this game? this http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=V6600-256A&cat=VCD or http://www.onsale.com/onsale/shop/d...adcampaign=email,BWBNEXTAG&wt.mc_id=BWBNEXTAG ?
my price range is limited to $150 any cards that ya'll know of that would work would be nice.

It will work in agp 4x, and it doesn't really make much difference in terms of having half the bandwidth.

I would have the 6600 128mb keeping to your price range. I don't know how much the 6600gt is, but it is quite a bit better than the 6600.

I have a 6600 gt and it works great... running on 4x...

I have never had anything better so I couldn't tell you if there's much of a difference from 8x to 4x

yup, defintely go with the eVGA 6600GT, where are you getting 200 dollar price range, cause thats way overpriced, a 6800 sometimes is under 150 with rebates and it is better then the 6600GT

164 dollars after mail in rebate, and is better then the 6600GT

yes a 128mb card can be better then a 256mb card, and it is a waste of money to go with the 256mb 6600GT it just decreases performance on that GPU
