Default After I add a second hard drive wha are the next steps?

My main hard drive is 320gb, now if I add another which will be 160gb and set the jumpers to slave, do I need to add an operating system to it, or partition it. If so how do I partition it? Just right click partition in my computer? And say I download a program and want it to go directly to the second hard drive how do I do that?

Default Re: After I add a second hard drive wha are the next steps?

If you add another hd you don't need to install a new OS on it, you can access it from the SO installed on the first hd. If the HD isn't format you'll have to create at least one partition, the primary one, and format it.
Each partition is identified by a letter, your actual hd, if it has only one partition, is identified by the letter C:. If you add a second had with only one partition it will have the letter D:, so when your doing the download you'll have to save it in d:\<name of the folder>.
