So I came upon this site tonight and read for a few minutes two kids ripping another for a system he apparently ingeniously built but really made up. It kept me laughing all the way through the registration process.

Anyway I welcome myself to Tech-Forums.net. I am [less of now] a gamer and daily I heavily multitask. Here is roughly the pc I am building to be completed in one week arranged with its peripherals.

ahh, thats great, ive seen a few of those myself. and hey, welcome to tech-fourms!! everything looks good for parts and everything, should come out to be a nice build.

tho i would suggest a 320gb western digital se16 sata 3.0gb/s, they are a little faster. also, are you using the hsf that comes with the cpu, or a different one? if you plan on using the one that comes with it, you might want to upgrade it if you plan to overclock. besides that, i dont see anything wrong with it.

If I may make some suggestions...

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ Windsor 2.4GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache

BFG Tech BFGR7950512GTOCE GeForce 7950GT 512MB

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3320620AS (Perpendicular Recording Technology) 320GB 7200 RPM 16MB

The seagate barracuda 7200.10 rles its awesomely fast aparrently windows takes 4 minutes less time to install on compared to similar harddrives although the Newegg one does have quite a few bad reviews if you read through them it would seem all the bad points were on first generation versions and they are great now.

Excellent replies with valid suggestions. I will be looking into that GeForce Card (clearing up a PCI slot) alongside that harddrive which is less expensive than the current and 16MB Cache sounds like more fun anyway than, say it, 8MB.. eeehh. I've already ordered my power supply almost unfortunetly, only because it was about $180.

I'm actually not sure what my HSF will be, quality (doubt it for stock) or decent. I've been checking newegg but I'm no expert in this category, any suggestions ?

I'll be going with the Scythe. For the buck and espcially the 'fanless' mode you can't beat this buy. Thanks!

but to be honest with the intel conroe out its much better putting monez on a e6400 or e66000 than the x4800+... also a 8800gts is very good since its using many things of tomorrow, dorect x 10 support, better video quality and shading etc....
