9800gt at 1080p

hey all,
I'm thinking about getting a 1080p monitor. i was just wondering whether or not my cheap build will play nice with a 1080p monitor. i mainly play left 4 dead 2, Borderlands, Dragon Age, nothing to intensive.

i'm pretty sure the 9800gt should power 1920*1080 fine, except i was trying out red faction guerrilla last night and the physics made the game run really slow at even moderate settings. is that just the game?

anyways, my rig:
amd 7750 @2.7 not overclocked
4gb ram
9800gt not overclocked
currently have a 1280*1024 old samsung

First, yeah your build can handle a 1080p monitor without a problem. Your system should run that fine at ok settings... Have you made sure your video card drivers are up to date? Re-installed the game?

+1 on the video card driver. My only other thought is, do you have the video settings cranked up at 1080? Try lowering them a bit as you start playing at higher resolutions.
