Yea the 8600GT is more of a hold me over type of card you ask me. I have the laptop version, runs most games rather well, but only advantage it even has is DX10, over the 7xxx series anyways.

Exactly, the only advantage is DX10 and the prices difference between it and better nividia and ati cards is so little that it's not worth buying it.

My friend bought an 8600gt ... get this.... Silent.

I don't think its a gts (which he payed for and ordered) and that would mean the company screwed him and gave him a silent 8600gt instead.

Pretty stupuid huh.
