Default 7900 Gt??

I want to upgrade from my 6600gt card for obvious reasons. I was curious if the 7900gt would be the best way to go if I wasn't willing to spend more than 300$ on a new card.

I was wondering if any of you ahve used this card and if it can run most games on full at 60fps or more. Can someone please reply and give me some more info what choices I might have and what you think of this card.

Thanks a lot for reading.

Evga evidently had some issues with a diode temp sensor that would lock the clock speed, downclock and lower the performance in general. Check the webiste as they have a listing of "Old" and "New" SKU's.

If you get a "New" SKU you will be fine (verified by the specs in my sig - stable, no artifacting and fairly cool).

I third that :P And the 512mb Bliss Golden Sample Goes Like Hel l version can max-out oblivion nicely, or at least mine can

Anyway, whatever version you get, the 7900GT is a great card

The x1900gt is very similar to the 7900gt and can have hdr and anti-aliasing on at the same time. It's also a bit cheaper.

Here are some benchmarks (scroll down) http://www.hkepc.com/hwdb/x1900gt-3.htm
(sorry couldnt find any others)

Perhaps you might want to consider it if you wanted an ATI card.
