Since when does the 2900 Pro perform better in benchmarks than the 8800GTS

It performs better than the 320MB, but not the 640MB version, to be specific.

Have you been following the news?

2900PRO is officially a VERY good performance card

oh, and to further poke and make fun at Nvidia, it can easily achieve X2900XT speeds with a simple overclock

An X2900XT for a straight regular price of $280? No mail-in-rebates? I don't think you can quite go wrong there.

Newegg.com - HIS Hightech H290PR512DVN-R Radeon HD 2900PRO 512MB 512-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Retail

OH! And... the X2900PRO has a 512-bit bus as oppose to the 8800GTS's 320-bit bus.

^ In Canada it's cheaper

X2900PRO >>> $290 CND

Cheapest GTS >>> $310 CND

7900GS would preform much better then the X1950PRO. That's if you overclock the 7900GS. Otherwise, the X1950PRO would beat it at stock clocks.

^That's arguable. The X1950PRO is better at some games than the 7900GS, even with overclocking.

Or get 7950GT, it can beat both X1950pro and 7900GS easily at stock speeds
