I was looking into building me a new computer since the holidays are here and i was wondering how much of a difference is it to have 512 mb of shared memory or 1 gb of memory off of a pciex16 card. i know that since the 512 is shared memory that it pulls 512 mb of ram off your computer to use for the graphics so i was thinking to put 2 gb of ram plus my 512 ram cards i have in my old computer. I a medium to big gamer so would 512 be enough for me or should i go with the 1 gb card? Please give me your opinion. Thanks and happy holidays

The difference will only show in high resolution gaming like higher than 1680x1050

What resolution will you be gaming at? What card did you have in mind?

Most people will be just fine with the 512 version

You won't notice much of a difference in gaming. 512 should be more than enough for you. I would make sure you're using a 64 bit operating system of course when considering video ram in these amounts.
