Will the speed difference between the ram you suggested and I chose be insignificant? And is getting an open box item really that risky?

You really won't notice any difference between 800 and 1066. The only time I recommend 1066 is if you're doing some nice overclocking, but then I'd recommend a much better kit than that crucial, and it won't matter much with the 7750 anyway.

Ok thanks for the advice. One more thing sorry, will an upgrade to 3 or 4 gigs of ram on that setup lend any noticeable increase in performance or would that be a waste of money as well?

4gb would be ideal.
