5 1/4 floppy

I have an old 5 1/4 floppy drive I am trying to get to read an old disk. When I try to read the disk it wants to format it. I'm using Win XP Pro. It's an old version of Monopoly, probably for Win95. I think the program is written in Basic. Any suggestions?

Disk has gone bad and isn't readable. The data has probably been mixed up a bit to where your OS doesn't recognize the format, so it needs to format the disk to recognize it.

Go buy Monopoly for like 2 bucks at best buy They come in those CD packages were you get like 200 games for 5 dollars.

it's probably just as likely to be the drive, have you tested it with any other disks?

If it wants to format the disk, that means either the drive is bad or the disk is bad. You'd be suprised just how little it takes to demagnetize a floppy disk.
