Default 3500+

Alot of people say that the AMD Athlon 3500+ s939 is good for gaming and overclocking but is it any good at running office applications like word, photoshop, etc?

It is fine for those. Actually for only word and photoshop, any processor 1GHz or faster will work great.

(I've answered too many n00b questions today.)

yeah, if you're doing office applications and whatnot, then I'd stick with the 3000, or even a socket A processor. But if money's not a big issue, go with socket 939.

Actually, for Word a PII-350 works just dandy with 128 meg RAM!
The box said \"Requires Windows 98 or better\"....so I installed Linux. There\'s no going back.
